Let’s make this Tiktok viral watermelon jello!
I made my watermelon jello into 3 different layers: watermelon juice jello, sakura Sprite jello, and coconut milk jello. Each layer has its uniquely beautiful looking and taste. My followers told me, this is the most beautiful watermelon jello they’ve ever seen! 🤗
Some tips for making jiggle wiggle watermelon jello:
1. Place the white jello in middle.
Since the sakura layer’s color looks very similar to the watermelon juice layer’s color, I think you might get a better-looking watermelon jello by switching the order of the sakura layer and the milk layer.
So your watermelon jello’s pattern would be red, white, then pink. I bet the colors are going to be clearer and the jello is going to be prettier that way.
2. Make your watermelon jello colorful
Feel free to substitute the Sprite or coconut milk with any other drink you like.
For example, you can use Green apple Fenta to make a green layer, use orange juice to make a orange layer …
3. Soak and rinse sakura flowers
Some of you asked me: “What does sakura flower taste like?”
Sakura flowers have a very subtle taste: sweet with a hint of the flower’s fragrance.
However, since they are usually preserved in salt, you will have to soak them in cold water for at least 10 minutes, then gently rinse the flowers to get rid of the salty taste.
I bought my sakura flowers from Amazon.
You can also substitute it with rose tea, jasmine tea, mint leaves, finely chopped watermelon flesh, any other ingredients to make your watermelon jello look unique and beautiful.
4. Blend the watermelon juice with a hand mixer
Of course you could use a blender or a food processor to juice the watermelon.
It’s also very fun and convenient to blend watermelon juice with a hand mixer.
You will need to:
- Cut off a ½ inch off the top of the watermelon.
- Scope out about 5 tbsps of the watermelon flesh and eat them. In this way, the watermelon juice won’t splash when we blend it later.
- Attach 1 beater to a hand mixer, insert it into the watermelon hole, use the lowest speed (speed 2 on my hand mixer) to blend the watermelon flesh into juice.
The advantage of this method is that you can drink the juice directly from the watermelon with a straw.
Then Mr He will have one less glass to wash.😁
However, to make our watermelon jello look clear and taste smooth, we will need to strain the blended mixture to remove the pulp if we use a hand mixer instead of a strong blender.
Well, then Mr He will have one more strainer to wash. 😂
5. vegan substitute for gelatin – Agar agar
Agar agar powder is made from 100% natural red seaweed, which is a popular halal, gluten-free, sugar-free vegan substitute for gelatin.
Jello made from agar agar powder is tasty and beautiful too. But it tastes slightly different from gelatin jello.
To me, agar agar jello tastes a little bit crunchier than gelatin jello. Agar agar jello kinda bounces on your tongue, while gelatin jello melts in your mouth.

- Blender (or hand mixer)
