Instructions

To Make the Korean Rice Mask

1. Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water to remove any impurities.

2. Add the rinsed rice, water, and milk (optional) to a nonstick potBring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer until the rice is soft. This should take about 25-30 minutes. Stir the mixture occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.

3. Once the rice is cooked, blend it in a food processor or blender until you get a smooth paste. If the paste is too thick, you can add a little water or milk to achieve your desired consistency.

4. Mix in 1 tablespoon of honey. (Honey is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture into the skin and helps retain it, keeping your skin hydrated and soft. )

5. Store your homemade rice mask in a sanitized airtight container and keep it in the fridge for up to 1 week.

To Apply the Mask

    1. its best if you do. All the moisture can cause mold to form if left in the fridge for more than one and a half week speaking from experience! :’)

  1. Can I use it every day or can I only use it 2-3 times a week? If so, it only lasts 1 week, is it best to just half the recipe?

    1. Yeah, sorry this may be a little late, but you could probably just use rice flour/powder (like a couple tablespoons or so;however to your liking) and if you want add some honey and milk, adjust to your own measurements though.

  2. I’m a Nigerian and I have a few questions. First off is the type of rice to be used. We have many types, so do I have to use all or just the one I think is best? Second is the rice paper, we don’t have it here and I’m a University student currently not working so I can’t order for one. Can I put it directly on my face like that?

  3. Hi Ariella,I’m also a Nigerian and I use short grain rice. I didn’t use rice paper since I couldn’t get it and it been a week since I have been using the rice mask. And it said in the article that use can probably use any type of rice but short grain is more better since it’s more sticky.
